Your first call
A tool is a website task with a typed input and output. Name the tool, its operation and the input, and Fous runs it and returns the data. This call reads the Hacker News front page; it needs an API key and nothing else.
curl 'https://api.fous.com/v1/query' \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $FOUS_API_KEY" \
-H "Idempotency-Key: $FOUS_IDEMPOTENCY_KEY" \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-d '{"api":"@hacker-news","operation":"list_front_page","input":{"list_name":"show_hn","max_results":5}}'
The response carries the output and a receipt. Each completed run costs 1 credit; finding tools and checking status is free.

data.output, keepdata.receipt.request_id, and send anIdempotency-Keyso a retry never pays twice. Retries and idempotency.
For AI agents
Claude, Codex, Cursor, VS Code and any MCP client connect to the Fous MCP server to find tools, read their contracts, run them and check results. Credentials with the required scopes can also build tools, connect accounts and save service keys. fous_status shows the connected organization, credits and remaining free builds. Connect an AI agent.
Every page of these docs is also Markdown. Add .md to any URL, or start from llms.txt. Use with coding agents.
